Thanks to the email address import tool, you can create email addresses and email forwards using a .CSV file. This tool is very useful if you need to create a lot of email addresses or email forwards on your cPanel hosting.
In order to be able to import emails en masse, you need to create a .CSV file. You can do this using software such as Notepad++. The CSV file should look like this:
Email,Password,Quota alex@domaine.com,1234,10 lea@domaine.com,1234,5 simon@domaine.com,1234,1
It is best not to use Excel to create your file. Excel can add unnecessary headers that can cause problems when your emails are imported.
The format of your file is as follows:
You can import email addresses by going to your cPanel interface and clicking on the"Address import tool" tab in the"Email" section.
Choose"Mail accounts (1)", select the file concerned (2) and click on the"Next" button.
You will then see a visual confirmation of the email addresses found in your .CSV file. First check that all the columns have been detected, then click on the"Next" button.
You will be asked for a final confirmation. Click "Finish" to create the emails.
It should also be noted that you should not use accented characters or commas in the password when creating the .CSV file. This could cause problems when the file is imported
The import file must have two columns such as the following:
Source,Target alex@domaine.com,alex@domaine.fr lea@domaine.com,lea@domaine.fr simon@domaine.com,simon@domaine.fr
To import email forwarders, you need to tick the"Forwarder" box in the email import tool. Choose the file you want to import and click"Next".
You will then see a visual confirmation of the email redirections found in your .CSV file. First check that all the columns have been detected, then click "Next".
You will be asked for a final confirmation. Click "Finish" to create the email redirections.
You are now able to create emails or add email redirects using a .CSV file on your cPanel hosting. This tool is very useful if you have a lot of email addresses and email forwarders to create.
