What are the differences between cPanel & WHM?

WHM is a reseller management panel: this is the interface you use to create web hosting packages and accounts for your customers, for example. In the WHM interface, you can do the following:

  • Create individual accounts
  • Create personalised hosting packages
  • Add domains to the server
  • Manage hosting features
  • Reset passwords and e-mail addresses for cPanel accounts
  • Modify resource limits for cPanel accounts
  • Modify DNS zone records for each domain and sub-domain


cPanel is a user management panel: your customers will use this management panel to create their website, e-mail addresses, etc.

  • Install a CMS using Softaculous
  • Upload and manage files for their websites
  • Add/delete domains and sub-domains
  • Create e-mail addresses and manage e-mail settings
  • Check your site statistics
  • Manage databases and backups
