What is the purpose of creating a filter in my mailbox?

Creating a filter via your Roundcube webmail will allow you to :

• classify your emails in folders created beforehand according to their sender, subject, content, etc.
• send a copy of emails received to another email address
• redirect your messages to another address
• reply automatically to all or some of the messages you receive(create an autoresponder)
• etc

The procedure differs slightly depending on the graphic theme used in Roundcube. This documentation explains the two procedures depending on the theme you are using.

Procedure with the Larry? theme

1. Connect to the webmail of the e-mail account for which you want to create a new folder.
2. Go to the"Settings" section

Fill in the fields as follows if you want to send a copy to another address:

• Filter name: enter the name of your filter
• Filter is activated: you can activate/deactivate the filter
• Scope: all emails
• Action: Indicate"send a copy of the email to" and enter the email address for receiving the copy.

Complete the fields as follows if you wish to redirect an email to another address:

• Filter name: Enter the name of your filter
• Filter is activated; you can activate/deactivate the filter
• Scope: all emails
• Action: Indicate"redirect email to" and specify the email address to which your emails should be redirected.

However, there is a difference between"send a copy" and"redirect an email", which is as follows:

• Send a copy: just sends a copy of the email to another address, but keeps the original email on Webmail
• Redirect an email: allows you to send the email to another address. As a result, the email will no longer be visible on your Webmail.
